Type within Motion graphics

October 13, 2009

After taking a look at the various examples off the net on what to do with motion graphics and type, I chose a scene from three different movies and taking the audio I’ll play around with the various effects in motion graphics to come up with a cool looking clip like the following entry below.

I’ve chosen the portion of the this scene when the various neo’s in the background start talking after the architect has stated something, it’ll help to play with various little pieces of type to get that image of other voices interacting within the piece.

The second clip i was thinking of using would be the scene within the beginning of donni dark when everyone is at the dinner table eat and donni gets into a fight with his sister, calling her a fuck ass and her replying with “you can go suck a fuck” ahahaha quite funny and i like having fun with obscene humor.

this looks like another good one to use that involves humor, rather than just having a single character talk the additional voice in the scene will have to be developed by a different typeface, which will be fun to us and have it interact with the another. we’ll see what comes out of this one if i choose it.

So far though i’m leaning towards stepbrothers and i should have some story boards up soon on it.

Text Convo’s that Involve Motion Graphics

October 13, 2009

I was browsing through youtube and seeing what kind of conversations other people have used with moving text. Here a few videos that i watched that are aimed at movie conversations and speeches:

never saw the movie but i really like the use of rotation of the text and punctuation

i only saw bits and parts of this film but vince vaughn will always spit out his dialogue so quickly and sporadically that keeping up with the pace gets a little crazy but this clip really makes it fluid for the reader to keep up with the pace of the text that appears. as well as developing some visuals here and there for the audience. A very good example of motion graphics that involve quick and preciset development of the text as it flows.

ahahahahahahahahaha, ok ok ok sooo yeah i don’t think this qualifies but it was hilarious to watch, all the characters, ships, objects, everything is type! lol wow so it’s another way to look at developing type to a conversation or event i guess

although i have no idea what’s up with the bounding box for this clip, the way the text comes at you to give you that depth of feel and 3d atmosphere is an awesome idea, never forget to use 3d effects

Inspirational Motion Graphics

September 22, 2009

Here a few inspirational motion graphics:

This video came out with the second batch of adds that sony used to advertise their playstation 3, this video was later cut down in short intervals but i was always excited to see the whole thing on the television. Also within metal gear solid 4, a few motion graphics commercials were put used in the beginning of the game an they were very well developed, a must see for the lay out and design they used in them.

Another good use of motion graphics was within the intro of stranger than fiction, the way the artists designed will ferrel’s activities during his average day were done very well, the information flows well and it’s nice on the eyes.

My friend showed me this video over the summer and i was amazed with the detail and work put into making this stop action video. I myself having made a few stop motion videos with legos in high school can understand the intensity of having to get all the legos that you need and building everything and doing shot for shot to show the motion of a character. great stuff.
